Writing Newsletters That Get Noticed

Writing Newsletters That Get NoticedGlobal Newsletter Whether you’re new to writing newsletters or have been writing them for a while but aren’t getting the response you were hoping for, a few minor changes may be all you need to get your newsletter on the right track. There are plenty of successful newsletters out there. If you examine them, you’ll see that they often share the following characteristics: 1. They Write to Teach Regardless of what business you’re in or what niche your organisation fills, you can practically guarantee that a newsletter that teaches its readers is read and shared. Everyone loves to learn, especially if what they’re learning can benefit them in some way. Whether it’s personal, professional or just plain fun, write to educate your readers (whether it’s on the benefits of your product or the purpose of your organisation) and your readership is sure to engage and grow. 2. They Share Stories Yes, it’s a data-driven world and we need hard facts to make real decisions. Yet when it comes to things we want to read, we want to hear real stories about real people. So, when you’re writing your newsletter, don’t forget the faces behind the numbers. When appropriate, personalise your organisation and the people in your articles so that your audience can identify with them and your story. 3. They Respect Design When writing your newsletter articles, think about how they’ll be displayed on the page. Organise information for your readers so that what you’ve written can be both scanned and read because different people have different reading styles. Don’t write blocks of text that are pages long; you’re not writing a thesis, you’re writing a newsletter. It should be enjoyable, informative and easy to digest. We offer a terrific 2-day workshop called Writing Dynamics™. Writing Dynamics™ will give you a writing system allowing you to get the best out of your business writing.
