Vanessa Lovegrove is well known to many of our clients. But not all have actually met her. Here’s your opportunity to find out more about Vanessa Lovegrove and why she is integral to Holst in this quick Q&A session.

First of all, we have to know, who is that on the sofa with you?

Meet the hound, Chief Brody (yes, from Jaws!) a Hungarian Wire-Haired Vizsla. My exercise buddy and ever present companion when I’m working from the home office.

Vanessa, how long have you been with Holst and why did you join us?

V: 7 years! How can it be that long?! During my HR career I realised the most effective and happiest employees were ones most naturally suited to their role. Psychometric testing provides insight into how to get the right people into the right roles for them. I decided to specialise in this field and joined Holst, distributor of the McQuaig Psychometric System.​

How would you sum up your Client Specialist role?

V: I offer advice and expertise to help organisations solve issues, create value and improve business performance. My role is to understand our clients’ individual needs and their unique use of McQuaig. From my seven years, I have real depth of knowledge of the tool and I know that my clients really value this.

How has Holst changed over the years?

V: The biggest change for us has been to move away from the way we deliver our services. We’re now fitter, leaner and much more agile in a constantly moving marketplace. Our professional development portfolio is fit for purpose in an ever changing business world. The new version of McQuaig Online has also been a gamechanger. McQuaig has always been a powerful tool, but now it’s so much easier to administer, which means better value for our clients.

What is the best bit about your job?

V: My wonderful colleagues, our interesting product range, clients from diverse industries (Harrods to undertakers)… and lots of cake obvs!​

And what’s the worst? Be honest …

V: A cold winter! Our office is in a period building with sash windows. It can get rather chilly!

What makes Holst special, why have you been here so long?

​V: It has to be my amazing colleagues. We have such terrific team spirit that it’s a joy to come into work.

Do you have a hidden talent?​

V: Can I mention two? I’m an enthusiastic surfer and love flying bi-planes!
