..routine patterns for dealing with a stable world

I am becoming more and more convinced that the human race has not really started to ‘think’. We operate on the basis of learning to recognise standard situations and then to supply the standard response. Education is totally based on this model. Most behaviour is based on this model. The thinking software devised by the Greek Gang of Three (Socrates, Plato and Aristotle) set up this model. The natural working of the brain follows the model. The purpose of the brain is to set up routine patterns for dealing with a stable world. Thereafter all we need to do is to identify the situation and then follow the routine patterns. It has to be said that this system is so excellently adequate that we have never seen any need to develop better thinking methods. This wonderful thinking is concerned with ‘what is’ but is very poor at ‘what can be’.
