Facilitation Basics teaches the key principles of good facilitation skills. Strong facilitation skills save time. You will learn to move a meeting or session from being unproductive to productive. You will also learn simple techniques for keeping a group on track.
Facilitation Basics will help you move from out-of-control situations to a systematic one. In one of our modules you will explore various models of facilitation. You will also sample of the different processes facilitator’s use. On a Facilitation Basics course you will also learn what types of situations make each model or process a good fit. During your facilitation skills training you will explore ways to manage personality types. You will also create strategies to encourage participants to engage and feel valued rather than risk bruising egos.
This course highlights the single greatest reason why sessions go wrong: no clear purpose. You will explore ways to ensure your groups have a clear common goal and good reasons for participating in your session.
A good facilitator paves the way for successful outcomes. They will save your organisation time, money and increase productivity. Tough conversations become easier. Group creativity is allowed for and clear outcomes become normal. These skills are also good for meeting techniques, coaching sessions, conferences and workshop facilitation. There are no requirements for this facilitation skills course. We recommend that you have upcoming opportunities to facilitate. Experience isn’t essential however you will benefit from sharing any situations where you’ve experienced a facilitated session. It will also help for you to bring any upcoming scenarios you’d like to discuss.You will receive a full workbook full of hints and tips and a certified Facilitation Basics trainer will lead your course.
